Yoga has become widely accepted in the medical profession as an adjunct to traditional medical treatment.  Studies and clinical trials have shown that yoga is effective in relieving stress, insomnia and pain for a number of medical conditions, including cancer, cardiac conditions, fibromyalgia and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Yoga does far more than get you relaxed and help your body-mind become stronger and more flexible. We do it without striving and without forcing. Instead, we practice accepting our body as we find it, in the present, from one moment to the next. While stretching, strengthening, or balancing we move one breath at a time, playing and discovering our edge, and maintaining moment-to-moment awareness and integration.

What is Metta?

Metta means lovingkindness. In metta the heart opens unconditionally, encompassing all that is, with acceptance, awareness, and good will.

Metta is an openhearted nurturing of ourselves and others just as we all are.   Our yoga mat is the perfect place to begin our practice of metta.

Radiating metta is thought to contribute to a world of love, peace and happiness.
